Seven cities. One statewide conversation. Building the future of Colorado film and media.
The Colorado film and media community is coming together once again for the second annual Colorado Film and Media Town Hall, a statewide event designed to strengthen collaboration and shape the future of Colorado’s creative industry.
Taking place Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, the event will be held simultaneously in person in seven cities across Colorado, with a hybrid online option, bringing together filmmakers, producers, business owners, educators and creative professionals from every corner of the state.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural Town Hall, which drew more than 250 participants, this year’s event will continue the community-led conversation about how to grow a vibrant, sustainable film and media ecosystem in Colorado.
“Our goal is simple,” says Shawna Schultz, founder of the FAMCO Initiative, a task force formed after the release of the 2022 Colorado Film Study (cinefe.org/study), and vice president of the Colorado Film and Video Association. “We’re uniting our community so we can speak with one voice, amplify our needs and build real pathways for creative and professional growth right here at home.”
The 2024 Town Hall generated an inspiring list of initiatives that led to the FAMCO Leadership Summit held in October. There, leaders from across the state—including representatives from Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs and beyond—identified key priorities within FAMCO’s “Flywheel” model for industry growth. This year’s Town Hall will present those findings and engage participants in interactive discussions about next steps for each “spoke” of the Flywheel.
Attendees will hear from leaders across the industry, participate in small- and large-group sessions and collaborate on actionable strategies for advancing film and media in Colorado.
“This is about us, the community, coming together to build the industry we want to see,” Schultz says. “When we unite, we can create a thriving, interconnected creative economy that serves all of us.”
