This concert features a thrilling mix of classical works and traditional folk music and dances. The orchestra begins with Camille Saint-Saens’ “Danse Macabre,” followed by the traditional Mexican song, “La Llorona,” and a heartfelt rendition of “El Triste.” The second half of the program promises to honor life with “Un Rinconcito en el Cielo” and “Amor Eterno.” End the evening by dancing to the cumbia and salsa with “Colombia Tierra Querida” and “La Vida es un Carnaval.”
Colombian conductor Diego Barbosa-Vásquez will give a pre-concert talk at the LINC Library at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29.
