October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Alternatives to Violence is once again partnering with the Loveland Police Department to host the second annual Trunk-or-Treat. The community is invited to join the fun from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Oct. 11, 2025, in the Loveland Police Department parking lot, located at 810 E. 10th St.
Families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy a festive morning filled with candy, activities and an important message of safety and support. Local businesses and community members will transform their vehicles into decorated “trunks” where kids can trick-or-treat.
“We are thrilled to be back for a second year of Trunk-or-Treat with the Loveland Police Department,” says Rose Marie Massaro, communication and development manager for Alternatives to Violence. “This event creates a safe and fun environment for families to celebrate Halloween while helping us share the importance of violence prevention and safety education at a young age.”
Alternatives to Violence and the Loveland Police Department encourage families to make a full day of it by attending the city of Loveland’s Pumpkin Festival, happening downtown the same day starting at noon.
“This is such a fun time of year for our community, and we’re excited to continue this tradition,” says Chris Padgett, public information officer for the Loveland Police Department. “Our Trunk-or-Treat offers families a safe way to enjoy Halloween fun, and when paired with the city’s Pumpkin Festival, it’s a day full of free family activities.”
