The Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire Department (RCVFD) celebrated its 50th anniversary at the annual Mountain Festival. More than 3,500 attendees enjoyed entertainment provided by the Choice City Trio, Liz Barnez, AKA (Also Known As) and Wendy Woo. With free admission, the festival featured a tractor-pulled hayride shuttle, farm animals, food trucks, artisan vendors and educational booths, plus a car show, kids activity area, firefighter dunk tank, silent auction and more. Proceeds supported the all-volunteer RCVFD emergency responders, who serve a 110-square-mile area—including Rist Canyon, Stove Prairie and the Buckhorn—and provide mutual aid for an additional adjoining 50 square miles.
