Big O Tires partnered with Project Self-Sufficiency to host a special Car Care Clinic for 20 of the nonprofit’s clients—single parents working toward economic independence while building and maintaining strong, healthy families. The clinic took place on August 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Big O Tires store located at 2007 Timberline Road in Fort Collins.
Recognizing that single parents often face the challenge of balancing countless priorities, Big O Tires felt it was important to provide valuable automotive skills that could help make life a little easier and safer for them. “Car maintenance can easily fall to the side when you’re juggling so much alone,” said Jim Lautzenheiser, Owner of Big O Tires Fort Collins. “We wanted to help remove some of that stress by giving parents the knowledge and confidence to care for their vehicles.”
The clinic’s format was designed to be informational and hands-on in a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. At the beginning of the event, Big O Tires Manager, Tyler Nelson, reviewed the Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) process, explaining the benefits of using modern tools to assess a vehicle’s condition. Attendees then moved to the shop area for the hands-on learning portion of the clinic. Three vehicles were available for interactive learning, with three instructors available to guide participants and answer questions. Dinner also was provided for all who participated.
This event is part of Big O Tires’ ongoing commitment to supporting disadvantaged communities in Northern Colorado. Through partnerships, donations and hands-on initiatives, Big O Tires works to ensure that every driver—regardless of background—has access to the resources and information they need to stay safe on the road.
