Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
As a first-generation child of immigrant parents from Mexico, I learned to work and grind for a seat at the table. Growing up in Colorado Springs and attending all-white schools, I had to learn how to navigate being different than my classmates because of my language and my culture. I knew I would always stand out. However, the question was, “Am I only going to stand out this way?” Since my father started his own construction company, everything I know about entrepreneurship came from him and my mother. They shaped me into who I am today.

Explain your career, achievements and professional highlights.
After college, I got the opportunity to intern with the strength and conditioning department of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2023 season, where I worked one-on-one with players in their training, nutrition and recovery. When I came back, I started Sigma Wear, an athletic and casual clothing brand. I then decided to open Sigma Performance Center, a private, 24/7 fitness facility, in October 2024. Shortly after, I started 96 Mobile Car Detailing, an auto detailing service that meets customers where they are. Last month, I opened my newest business, 96 AutoLux, an automotive cosmetic center offering detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, tinting, paint protection film and vinyl.

In what ways do you give back to the community?
I’ve had the opportunity to teach car detailing classes at Polaris Expeditionary Learning School. I also have classes come and tour my performance center, where I teach them about physical education, demonstrate various types of equipment and exercises and show them what’s involved in creating an inclusive and diverse culture as a business owner. I host many events at Sigma Performance Center to bring the community together and share their love of physical activity while having a great time. I’ve also worked with CSU CHAARG, an all-women’s exercise club.

What do you consider the biggest accomplishment or challenge you’ve overcome, either professionally or personally?
My biggest accomplishment was working with the Dodgers as an intern right after graduating from Colorado State University at age 21. This goes along with my biggest challenge: imposter syndrome. Believing that I am not qualified nor experienced enough to start multiple businesses and accomplish the things I have while being in my early 20s took time to overcome. I now believe that if these things weren’t meant for me, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Tell us something unique about you.
These aren’t the only businesses I’ve started. I used to make custom rugs and sold sneakers, high-end clothing and other items. I still dabble in this today just to stick to the roots of my entrepreneurial mindset. I also went to the National Cup Stacking Championships in fourth grade.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
I see myself continuing to grow my entrepreneurial portfolio while staying tied to the community and helping those around me. Whether it’s by teaching others or putting on more events, I see myself expanding my businesses and using them as a force for good to inspire the younger generation and the community as a whole.

What piece(s) of advice would you give to your younger self?
Just focus on you and trust yourself, not your environment. As goes the saying, “The same boiling water that softens a potato can also harden an egg,” the situation doesn’t dictate the outcome; it’s how you handle it. Opportunities you’ve received wouldn’t have presented themselves if you couldn’t handle them and weren’t capable of succeeding.

How did you get into cars and fashion in addition to fitness?

Growing up immersed in car culture, I was inspired by family members modifying cars and helping my father at the car wash. Fascinated by their sounds and aesthetics, I launched a business to showcase cars. My mother’s dedication to keeping me well dressed despite financial challenges sparked my interest in fashion. In college, I founded StreetHeat Streetwear to cover expenses, sourcing sneakers and high-end designer items for customers. My entrepreneurial drive in both industries stems from my parents’ influence and support.

What was your favorite thing about working with the Dodgers?
I reached a point where I could do what I love professionally and with professional athletes. Simply being around the players and staff, learning from them and working on my own craft, was a rewarding experience in itself. Not to mention being at the stadium the entire day during their training, practices and more. I’d like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Dodgers for helping me get to this point in my career and field.

Local business shoutout:
I would like to give Pho Duy a shoutout. Their pho and spring rolls are always there for the good days and bad days. They never fail to scratch my craving for some good Vietnamese food. If you haven’t tried them, you’re missing out.
