The eighth annual Purple Ribbon Breakfast benefiting Alternatives to Violence welcomed Nichole and James Schmidt, the mother and stepfather of Gabby Petito, whose life was tragically taken by her fiancé in 2021. Determined to transform their loss into a mission to advocate for victims of intimate partner violence, Petito’s family created the Gabby Petito Foundation. Their powerful message of hope, resilience and prevention deeply moved the more than 500 attendees, offering insight and raising awareness to help protect others from similar heartbreak.
