Celebrate Preservation Excellence: Nominate a Historic Preservation Champion

The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission is calling for nominations for the Historic Preservation Month Awards. The awards recognize individuals, groups and businesses that have contributed to preserving and improving Greeley’s historic buildings and sites.

To nominate someone or a project, use the nomination form available from the Historic Preservation Office. Residents can request the form by calling 970-350-9222 or emailing hpo@greeleygov.com.

Nominations are due by noon on Thursday, April 3. Completed forms should be mailed or delivered to the Historic Preservation Office at 1100 10th Street, Greeley, CO 80631, or emailed to hpo@greeleygov.com.

Historic Preservation Month Awards

The commission will review all nominations and announce the winners at a Historic Preservation Month event. The event will be held at the Boys and Girls Club Teen Center at Warnoco, 1407 2nd Street, on Monday, May 19, at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Last year’s winners included:

  • The Boys and Girls Club of Weld County for restoring the Warnoco Building

  • Jeff and Kelly Cook for transforming the old Trinity Lutheran Church into The Ambry, a new office and co-working space

  • Mile High Stucco for restoring the exterior of the Midnight Oil Bookstore Building
