Do you know what language has the most words? Learn a wealth of information at the popular International Trivia Night from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. The entertaining and educational contest will feature 50 questions, with teams of six competing for prizes and bragging rights.
Partial teams or full six-person teams are welcome with a two-step process. First, team members should make individual reservations. Second, an email with the names of team members must be sent to the museum’s outreach coordinator at outreach@globalvillagemuseum.org. Individuals who register without a team will be joined with others on the night of the event.
Admission is $15 per person, and reservations are required at globalvillagemuseum.org by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21. Refreshments, including wine, will be served (P.S. English is the language with the most words!).
The Global Village Museum has four galleries: two rotating and two permanent. The rotating main gallery hosts three to four exhibitions per year, and the rotating hall gallery highlights local artists and organizations. The permanent galleries are Mundoville and John E. Roberts Village Arts. The former features international folk art as well as the world in miniature. The latter is home to world folk art, fine art and artifacts from Africa and Asia that were donated by local collectors and founding members.
The museum also features a Losel Doll House and a music room with international instruments. Younger visitors will enjoy a scavenger hunt for miniature gnomes.
The Global Village Museum is located at 200 W. Mountain Ave., and museum hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, please visit globalvillagemuseum.org or call 970.221.4600.
