Greeley Homeless Solutions Hosts Holiday Event for Rapid Rehousing Families

Santa Cops of Weld County partners to bring gifts and holiday cheer to nearly 50 families

City of Greeley’s Homeless Solutions Department hosted a special holiday event last Friday at the LINC Library Innovation Center. Nearly 50 families, including 29 children, in the City’s Rapid Rehousing Program enjoyed photos with Santa and received donated gifts from the nonprofit Santa Cops of Weld County.

This event aimed to create positive holiday memories for families working towards stable housing through the city’s Rapid Rehousing Program. This program helps people experiencing homelessness find a safe place to live and gives them the support they need to stay housed. Since the program launched in June 2024, it has helped 49 households, including 88 people, move into homes and start fresh.

“Our goal is to create a community where everyone has a place to call home,” said City of Greeley Assistant City Manager Juliana Kitten. “This event shows the power of working together. We’re so thankful to Santa Cops for helping bring joy to families during this special time of year. It’s a reminder that no one is alone in their journey to stable housing.”

The Homeless Solutions Department works to prevent and reduce homelessness by partnering with local organizations like Santa Cops of Weld County. Programs like Rapid Rehousing offer families the support they need to build a better future.

Santa Cops is a partnership between the Greeley Police Department, Evans Police Department, University of Northern Colorado Police Department, Weld County Probation Department, and District 6 Schools.
