New Destination: Conservation – Virtual Exhibit
  • What: Embark on a global adventure using VR headsets to explore Butterfly Pavilion’s groundbreaking conservation projects. Travel to Mongolia to witness the majestic Parnassian butterfly, see innovative bee fences in Tanzania, learn about sustainable butterfly farming in Sumatra, and soar over the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve in Mexico. This inspiring experience is free with admission.

Win a Behind-the-Scenes Tour at Butterfly Pavilion!
  • What: Ever wondered what’s behind the scenes?? Now’s your chance! Enter to win an exclusive tour to explore areas of Butterfly Pavilion not open to the public. Get a rare peek at our invertebrate zoo and meet fascinating creatures! that call Butterfly Pavilion home.
  • How to Enter: Online: Purchase a ticket at butterflies.org during the contest period, and your email is automatically entered. In-person: Visit Butterfly Pavilion and provide your email at the front desk.

Birdwing Butterflies from our Sumatra Butterfly Farm
  • What: Experience the breathtaking beauty of birdwing butterflies this winter, including dazzling species from Butterfly Pavilion’s sustainable farm in Sumatra, Indonesia, fluttering gracefully in the Wings of the Tropics butterfly conservatory. These majestic butterflies, one of the largest butterflies in the world, are a rare sight and a living testament to sustainable conservation practices.

Butterfly Quest Interactive Adventure
  • What: Join the fun in this visual scavenger hunt! Look for tagged butterflies among nearly 2,000 in Wings of the Tropics and help our scientists track and collect important research by recording observations on your phone. To date, 8,373 observations have been recorded since Butterfly Quest first launched in January 2022.
