The BIPOC Alliance Welcomes New Board of Directors and Co-Directors

The BIPOC Alliance is proud to announce a pivotal moment in its mission to advance equity and amplify the voices of communities of color in Northern Colorado. The organization is introducing its newly formed Board of Directors and the appointment of co-directors Jamie Rasmussen and India Phoenix.

Adding to this moment of celebration, The BIPOC Alliance has recently been named a finalist for the City of Fort Collins Human Relations Commission’s 2024 Human Relations Award, recognizing organizations that promote acceptance and diversity. The organization is also honored as a recipient of the Early Childhood Workforce Development Award from the Early Childhood Council of Larimer County for its innovative work with the Co-Op of Care.

Jamie Rasmussen (she/her) will serve as director of operations and advocacy, focusing on empowering people of color to hold leadership roles in legislation and organizations. A program director with The BIPOC Alliance since 2022 and a committed volunteer since 2020, Jamie brings unparalleled dedication and vision to the role.

India Phoenix (she/they) steps into the role of director of programs and culture, leading program development and fostering inclusive community relations. India’s tenure as communications director over the last two years has been instrumental in amplifying The BIPOC Alliance’s mission and shaping its values.

“I am beyond excited to work with this community,” Phoenix says. “The BIPOC Alliance has been a life-saving community for me and my family, and it’s an incredible honor to contribute to this movement of equity and belonging.”

This historic shift in leadership was unanimously approved by the newly formed Board of Directors, which includes the following distinguished members:
