The cover of our Annual Resource Guide was chosen from a pool of incredible entries by local artists. To all who submitted their designs, we admire your work and thank you for participating.

Congratulations to Amy Roup for being chosen as our cover artist! Her piece, “NOCO Full Circle,” won us over with the variety of illustrations she used to represent the services offered in our community.

Check out these other submissions from talented NOCO artists who submitted their work for consideration (in no particular order).

This piece combines a variety of illustrations representing the great services and support the Northern Colorado community has to offer. My mission is that when a reader looks at this cover image they are able to relate each illustration to a personal connection they have to all of those services.”

“Northern Colorado, surrounding cities, and Fort Collins, where I call home, are vibrant, creative, kind, welcoming, and community-driven places. My goal was to depict specific things that make this place so beautiful and desirable, for example, wildlife, mountains, forests, and sunshine. I also wanted to represent those things in a way that reflects the culture of Northern Colorado. I chose vibrant colors and organic and geometric shapes that offer a creative way to visualize our lively, robust, and innovative places. Colorado has brought so much joy to my heart that I wanted to create a piece that evokes joy, playfulness, and happiness to every person that grabs the magazine!”

“NoCo is an eclectic and vibrant place to live, work and play. Being in this area has a very specific feel – a fast but easy-to-ride pace, fantastic businesses that take pride in their trade, and smiling faces proud to represent their communities. Most of all, our natural environment with rolling foothills and powerful sunshine manages to give everything a touch of beauty and color – a feeling reflected in this piece through color and energy.”

“Since I moved from Los Angeles a few years ago I have been amazed at how organically beautiful Northern Colorado is. Even just driving to the market I am often in awe with how stunning it is here. The Colorado sky is something I wanted to feature, depicting how many stars there are here and the amazing clouds that I frequently see. I also painted Horsetooth because that is a symbol in my mind when I think of Northern Colorado. Being surrounded by this beauty makes me consider Northern Colorado an awesome place to live. I think everyone who lives here would agree with that, making this piece relatable for the Readers’ Choice Best of NOCO.”
