Now through December mark the most crucial fundraising period for the Food Bank of Larimer County to raise the resources needed to fight hunger in the year ahead. In the last year, the Food Bank’s hunger-relief programs provided food to more than 50,000 people. That need is only expected to grow. Community involvement is paramount to continuing efforts to provide nutritious food to seniors, children, families and neighbors who need it.
With the Food Bank rounding out its 40th year anniversary, community members will still find opportunities to contribute to this milestone — helping the food bank commemorate its roots, while supporting the future of fighting hunger. Here are several ways you can help make a major impact in fighting hunger:
Host an event with family and friends
Food and fund drives can take many shapes, but always make an impact in fighting hunger in Larimer County.
An example of this is a wine dinner benefit that helped to kick off the season of giving.
This event was hosted by the renowned Chimney Park Restaurant & Bar in Windsor. Owner and Chef Jason Shaeffer created a state-of-the-art menu for the evening. Board members past and present also participated.
Thanks to the efforts of participants, this event raised the equivalent of 100,000 meals’ worth of food.
