Aims Community Theater Group: Lysistrata
  • 7 p.m. Nov. 14-16 and 1 p.m. Nov. 16-17
  • Ed Beaty Hall Theater, Greeley Campus
  • $10

Aims Community Theater is pleased to present performances of the ancient Greek play, “Lysistrata,” written by Aristophanes. This Greek comedy tells the story of Lysistrata, a strong woman who rallies the women of her community to stop their husband’s involvement in the Peloponnesian War by withholding entertainment of their sexual desires for as long as it takes for them to stop fighting. This show highlights women’s power while showcasing the chaos that ensues when male roles are challenged. It’s spicy, provocative and hilarious. There will be two opportunities for “talkbacks” after the performance, which will help provide more context around the themes of the performance. These will be on Nov. 15 and Nov. 17. Due to the nature of the content, these performances are for mature audiences only.
