Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado Receives Northern Water Sponsorship

Northern Water will be the naming sponsor of the interior water exhibit, promoting water stewardship

The Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado is thrilled to announce a generous $500,000 sponsorship from the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (Northern Water). This significant contribution underscores Northern Water’s commitment to education, community engagement and sustainability in Northern Colorado.

The sponsorship will support the development of an interior water exhibit featuring multiple interactive elements that will inspire children and families to explore the vital role water plays in our region. By fostering an understanding of water supply, water conservation, stewardship and the environment, the Children’s Museum will empower the next generation of Northern Colorado’s water enthusiasts.

“We are incredibly grateful for this partnership with Northern Water,” says Ryan Howard, executive director of the Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado. “It’s vital that our communities understand our unique water supply systems. CMNC would feel incomplete without an exhibit to engage future generations of water policymakers. We could ask for no better partner than Northern Water.”

Plans for the water exhibit call for multiple hands-on learning opportunities. “We have a few concepts in design, but the feature piece will be the water table,” Howard says. The table will allow visitors to experience the challenges of sharing water across urban, agricultural, environmental and recreational uses.

“Water education is critical for understanding the water supply infrastructure and issues in Northern Colorado. The Children’s Museum water exhibit will provide an excellent, hands-on learning experience about Northern Water’s role in our regional water supply,” says Bill Emslie, president of the Municipal Subdistrict Board of Directors.

This sponsorship is a major milestone in the museum’s capital campaign and brings the Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado one step closer to becoming a cherished community resource for families throughout the region. Northern Water is committing $100,000 annually over the next five years to support the museum.
