On Friday, Sept. 20, community members joined Columbine Health Systems staff and residents to celebrate the 30th anniversary of New Mercer Commons, located at 900 Centre Ave. in Fort Collins. The event marked a significant milestone in Columbine Health Systems’ commitment to providing the community with top-quality care for seniors. It also provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the remodeled residential center.
The renovations are designed to enhance the quality of life for its 90 residents and foster a vibrant community. They also serve to strengthen ties with the community, ensuring that New Mercer Commons remains a welcoming place for family and friends to visit and engage with their loved ones. Updates include new flooring, carpeting, a new employee breakroom, fully renovated library/media room and a new theater area with cozy seating.
“These updates allow our residents to feel proud of their home, with plenty of opportunities to explore new hobbies and meet new people,” says Makayla Kraemer, admissions director at New Mercer Commons.
Celebrating three decades of compassionate care, New Mercer Commons has been a cornerstone of senior living in Fort Collins. Opened in 1994, it was the first assisted living option in Fort Collins. As a locally owned and operated facility, New Mercer Commons was able to evolve based on the needs of the people in the area, and that includes the new remodel.
New Mercer Commons caters to individual needs by offering many different styles of rooms and different levels of care. Residents enjoy easy access to walking paths, a sculpture park, butterfly garden and much more. These spaces foster physical activity, creativity and socialization, helping residents maintain a fulfilling lifestyle. To learn more about New Mercer Commons visit columbinehealth.com/newmercer.
