Big O Tires Fort Collins Donates $5,000 to the 2025 Coats & Boots Program

Big O Tires Fort Collins is making a big impact on helping children prepare for the upcoming winter months. As part of their ongoing commitment to help those in need in the community, Big O Tires Fort Collins donated $5,000 to Coats & Boots. A fundraiser sponsored by the North Fort Collins Business Administration, Coats & Boots serves to provide 28 Poudre School District (PSD) elementary schools with coats, boots, hats and gloves to protect them through the winter.

“Supporting the Coats & Boots program has always been important to us,” said Jim Lautzenheiser, Owner of Big O Tires Fort Collins. “We believe that ensuring children in our community have the proper winter gear is essential for their health and happiness, especially during the cold Colorado months.”

This year marks the 18th anniversary of Coats & Boots, which began in 2006 by providing 100 winter coats and boots to students at Irish Elementary. Since then, the program has rapidly grown. In 2025, the program will distribute 1,500 new winter coats and 1,500 pairs of boots to PSD children in need.

Coats & Boots is a collaborative community effort. The North Fort Collins Business Administration, in conjunction with Scheels and Jax, purchase the winter essentials to distribute to children deemed to be the most impacted by poverty.
