American Women Artists Exhibition to Open at the Loveland Museum

Beginning Sept. 14, 2024, the Loveland Museum will host Expanding Horizons, a juried exhibition by American Women Artists. This juried exhibition features 126 paintings, drawings, original prints and sculptures by members of American Women Artists from across the United States and Canada that reflect the way women view their lives today and the issues and ideas that provide inspiration and direction.

Expanding Horizons is the eighth in the series of AWA’s project, 25 in 25, which covers 25 museums in 25 years, established to highlight the work of professional women artists and to create dialog about the importance of gender equity in museum exhibitions. Throughout the world, only 3-5 percent of works in museums are by women. Expanding Horizons provides a defining example of the quality and unique voices expressed by women through their art and the exceptional contributions that women make to culture and humanity.
