“In Search of the Future: What do the Wise Ones Know?” will be shown Thursday, Sept. 5, during a presentation from 6-8 p.m. at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures in Fort Collins. Filmmakers Andrew Cameron Bailey and Connie Baxter Marlow will be on hand to introduce the film and answer questions.
“This newly remastered 2007 film explores issues crucial to humanity as we proceed on the evolutionary upward spiral to peace on earth,” Bailey says. “Hopefully it will rattle some cages and inspire change by shaking us loose from outdated assumptions. We need a new understanding of reality that provides keys to a desirable future.”
Bailey and Marlow will also preview the film’s sequel, “In Search of the Future II: The Only Way Out is UP!” Shot on location in South Africa, Mexico, Australia and the United States, the films bring together indigenous wisdom-carriers, scientists and futurists to examine the nature of the universe and the origin and future of humanity.
The films are companions to their book, “The Trust Frequency: Ten Assumptions for a New Paradigm,” which is informed by indigenous cosmology, leading-edge science and Eastern and Western mysticism. The authors are also the curators of the museum’s current main gallery exhibit, One World, One Family, showcasing photographs and artifacts of indigenous peoples around the world.
Tickets for the film and presentation are $10 per person, and reservations are recommended. Refreshments will be served, and signed copies of the filmmakers’ book will be available for purchase.
