Loan officer at Guild Mortgage, founder of NOCO Boss Babes
What’s your occupation? Explain your career, accomplishments and professional highlights.
I am a mortgage loan officer with over six years of experience. Having started my career at a young age due to limited college funding, I quickly developed a passion for the industry. Through dedication and hard work, I advanced from entry-level positions to become a trusted advisor for clients seeking home financing. Ever since my very first deal, I have focused on helping women and first-time homebuyers with personalized support throughout their homebuying journeys.
Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
From a young age, I was surrounded by women who demonstrated resilience, hard work and determination, which significantly shaped my personal and professional values. Fostering communities and building genuine connections has always been a cornerstone of my success. By creating and participating in supportive networks like NOCO Boss Babes, I have not only grown my business but formed meaningful relationships that have enriched my life.
Tell us something unique about you.
I have called Fort Collins home since I was 1 year old. Growing up in this wonderful community has given me a profound connection to its people and places and allowed me to build strong, meaningful relationships that foster a sense of belonging. Fort Collins is more than just a place I live; it’s where my roots are deeply planted.
What do you consider the biggest accomplishment or challenge you’ve overcome, either professionally or personally?
One of my biggest accomplishments is purchasing my first home on my own at the age of 22, a process that can be emotionally and financially strenuous and scary. At the time, I didn’t have as much of a community as I do now, so I’m proud that I believed in myself and invested in my future to achieve this milestone. It was a significant step that helped me believe in myself.
Where do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
In five to 10 years, I see myself continuing to grow and foster the Boss Babes community, providing valuable resources to help women and businesses in my local area. This mission is important to me because much of my success has come from the support and resources shared by those who were once in my shoes. I aim to pay it forward by offering guidance and opportunities to others.
What piece(s) of advice would you give to your younger self?
It’s OK to not be perfect. In fact, no one is perfect. It’s OK to make mistakes, and anyone who shames you for making them is not someone you want in your life. Mistakes teach us valuable lessons, guiding us toward the right path and revealing who we truly are.
Why did you decide to make NOCO Boss Babes free and inclusive?
NOCO Boss Babes is a free community resource that welcomes members of all genders and identities, aiming to be different from other groups by removing barriers to find community and resources. Our focus is on fostering genuine connections and giving back to the community rather than competing with one another. This inclusivity helps create a diverse, supportive environment where anyone can find a sense of belonging and support to build their businesses and make true, lasting friendships.
What has been your biggest challenge?
One of my biggest challenges was dropping out of college due to financial strain and uncertainty about my career path. I was in engineering school but couldn’t justify the expense and wasn’t sure it was right for me. After taking a job in banking, I discovered a passion for customer relationships, which led me to want to become a loan officer. As a young woman in a competitive industry, I faced many challenges. I saw mentors miss opportunities and face discrimination because they were women. I’ve worked hard to break the stigma surrounding women in every business, proving that anyone can succeed while staying authentic.
