Due to 2023 being an exceptionally rainy year, the Berthoud Bike Park never had the grand opening it deserved; Pedalpalooza aims to correct that. On Saturday, June 8th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Berthoud Bike Park will host a demo day with companies like Commencal, Spot Bikes, and InCycle. Pusher BMX will also be there with its exhibition team. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), along with the LCSO Bike Team and Berthoud Fire Department, will hold its annual bicycle safety fair. It will feature a maintenance inspection station, a helmet fitting area (with a limited supply of free helmets), and bicycling skills stations for new riders. The CSU bike team will be on hand to offer riding tips, and there will be local food trucks. The event is free and open to the public.
“The bike park has been an incredible asset to our town,” said Chris Kirk, Berthoud Town Administrator. “Having a place where friends and family can be excited to hang out together, making core memories, with no expectation of having to spend money is rare. We are proud we were able to provide that.”
The Berthoud Bike Park is located at 1223 Meadowlark Dr. Parking in the park will be severely limited, so riding bikes to the event or parking on the neighborhood streets is recommended. Additional parking will be available at Adams Bank & Trust, at 1201 Lake Ave in Berthoud.
Built in 2023, the Berthoud Bike Park covers 20 acres and features two extensive jump/flow lines, a quarter-mile dual slalom track, one mile of XC mountain bike trails, a bicycle playground, and an approximately 20,000 sq ft Velosolutions pump track.
