Greeley to Celebrate Public Works with Meet the Fleet Event

National Public Works Week kicks off May 19. To recognize the substantial contributions that public works professionals make in protecting the health, safety and quality of life in the community, the City of Greeley will host a Meet the Fleet event from 3-6 p.m. on May 22 at Island Grove Regional Park (501 North 14th Ave.).

During Meet the Fleet, visitors will have a chance to get up close and personal with equipment vehicles from Public Works, Greeley Fire and Greeley Police, connect with the city’s human resources department about job opportunities and learn about upcoming important Public Works projects taking place across the community. Meet the Fleet is free and open to all.

About National Public Works Week:

Each year, the American Public Works Association (APWA) sponsors National Public Works Week during the third week of May to pay tribute to public works professionals, engineers, managers and employees. The 2024 National Public Works Week theme is “advancing quality of life for all.”

Public works professionals advance the quality of life by providing an infrastructure of services in transportation and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, parks and grounds, emergency management and first response, solid waste and right-of-way management. They are the people who quietly work behind the scenes to make communities clean, safe and beautiful places to live, work and play.
