The Matthews House, a nonprofit organization that aims to close the poverty cycle in Northern Colorado, recently broke ground on its new Loveland youth shelter, The Landing. More than 150 supporters attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including youth who helped “break the wall” to kick off the renovation. The project is part of the organization’s mission to expand its current services for at-risk youth.
The Landing is set to open in fall 2024 and will serve as a shelter for homeless youth. It will serve their immediate needs, help to care for their mental well-being and be an inclusive, welcoming, safe space for all genders, identities, races, ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations.
