Project Prom Announces 2024 Giveaway Dates

Project Prom, a Thompson Education Foundation (TEF) program, has announced its 2024 prom dress giveaway dates in March and April. Students in Northern Colorado who might not otherwise be able to afford a prom dress can receive a free one at Project Prom’s pop-up site at the Promenade Shops at Centerra. Project Prom also offers limited amounts of accessories, shoes and non-dress attire.

On Thursday, March 21, the giveaway will be open to Thompson School District students only. The shop will be open to students from all districts in Northern Colorado on Fridays and Saturdays. All students must present their student ID to shop.

  • Location: Promenade Shops at Centerra (next to Eddie Bauer): 5957 Sky Pond Dr, Suite D106
  • Days/times:
    • Fridays from 4-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
    • Thompson School District students only: Thursday, March 21, from 4-7 p.m.
    • Open to all high school students: March 22-23, March 29-30 and April 5-6

Project Prom director, Tracy Roller, says she is thrilled to partner with the Promenade Shops at Centerra again this year: “As we were pleased to learn last year, the location at Centerra allows more students in need across our region to receive prom attire. We are so grateful for the space and resources they’ve provided us with.” She says the community has donated hundreds of items, including formal dresses, suits, shoes, clutches and jewelry. “We want to make sure that every student who wants a dress gets one. Finances shouldn’t be the reason that someone can’t go to prom,” she says.

Project Prom is made possible through donations, volunteers and the support of our community. In anticipation of the upcoming event, Project Prom is not currently accepting dress donations, however, monetary donations can be given year-round at thompsontef.org/donate.
