Beginning on Friday, March 8, 2024, the Connection to the Land exhibition will be on view in the Dunning Gallery of the Loveland Museum. Land is a common link between all people. It influences all aspects of life. Spirituality, cultural identity, family and a sense of place can all be tied to the land. This exhibition will feature prints from the Loveland Museum’s art collection, as well as original prints from Denver artist Tony Ortega.
Drawing from his cultural connection to the land, Ortega led students in two different workshops in February in the print shop at the Beet Education Center, where students created their own artwork and explored their personal connection to the land. Prints created by students will be displayed in this exhibit in celebration of the month of printmaking.
The month of printmaking, also known as Mo’Print, will take place during March and promotes awareness of the fine art of making original, handcrafted prints. Events are organized throughout the Denver metropolitan area, the front range region and other areas in Colorado. This exhibition will take place at the Loveland Museum from March 8-May 12 and will offer free admission.
