Change the Way You See the World at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures

Local Friendship Force members visit Ottawa, Canada, in September 2023.

Personal friendship through international travel is the focus of “Change the Way You See the World,” from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. The program will be presented by members of Friendship Force of Northern Colorado.

“Friendship Force offers hundreds of journeys each year,” says Ken Weaver, a past president of the local club who recently joined the board of directors at Friendship Force International. “Through these exciting personal encounters, strangers become friends, and a world of friends is a world of peace. By experiencing different views, you can discover common ground.”

Weaver, joined by club president Susan Mathre, will outline local and global opportunities for group and independent international journeys.

Friendship Force is a nonprofit, cross-cultural organization that was chartered in 1977 with the help of President Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. With more than 300 clubs in over 60 countries, the organization strives for global understanding between different peoples and cultures through homestay journeys and personal friendships.

Admission to the program is $5 per person, and reservations are requested at globalvillagemuseum.org. Refreshments will be served, and registrants will enjoy free admission to the museum’s four galleries.
