The annual Berthoud Parade of Lights celebrates the holidays while encouraging folks to support local businesses. This year’s parade on Mountain Avenue was led by the Berthoud High School (BHS) Junior ROTC and featured 40 festive floats, concluding with Santa and Mayor William Karspeck on a fire truck. The BHS show choir sang carols, the BHS marching band put on a show and Fickel Park was lit up with holiday lights after the countdown led by the mayor and Mrs. Claus. Awards were given for four float categories: most humorous, best executed, most Berthoud-esque and best golf cart.
