Established in 2022, Tellus was born from a profound love and respect for community, nature and the great outdoors. Its founders, former Peace Corps volunteers turned entrepreneurs, epitomize the brand’s tagline, “Adventure with Purpose.” This ethos signifies that every adventure is an opportunity to make a difference and encapsulates their dedication to creating eco-friendly outdoor wear that not only shields adventurers from the elements but also safeguards the very landscapes they cherish.

“Tellus combines our passion for adventure with our commitment to positively impacting our community and beyond. We invite everyone to join us on this incredible journey,” says Co-Founder Joe Basta in his excitement for the launch.

What sets Tellus apart is its commitment to producing environmentally friendly products and its groundbreaking “GiveBack100” initiative. This initiative underscores Tellus’ unwavering devotion to nurturing a sustainable future for our planet and all its inhabitants. The “GiveBack100” pledge promises to reinvest 100% of net profits into organizations actively combatting pressing environmental issues, including ocean restoration, land and water conservation and reforestation. Customers can select their preferred cause to support at checkout.

Tellus has already identified its inaugural community partner for the “GiveBack100” program, and details regarding programs available for customer selection will be announced on the day the online store goes live next month.

“We are genuinely excited about this partnership, as it allows us to support an organization with some of the most robust environmental programs in Colorado and across the country,” says Co-Founder, Melissa Basta.

In addition to “GiveBack100,” meticulous thought has gone into creating Tellus’ debut product line. All products were designed in Fort Collins, CO, inspired by co-founder Joe Basta’s 30-plus years of backpacking experience spanning from Patagonia to the Dolomites to the Rawahs and the Rocky Mountains, and Joe and Melissa’s extensive travels and camping adventures with their three daughters.

“We designed Tellus products not only to excel in the great outdoors, keeping wearers comfortable and stylish, but what truly sets Tellus apart is our investment in fabrics and materials that prioritize sustainability,” Basta says.

Nearly all Tellus products incorporate at least 75% recycled materials, with select items crafted from 100% recycled material. Nearly all Tellus-manufactured apparel is made in bluesign® certified mills, ensuring the safety of our workers and products from harmful chemicals. Moreover, Tellus outerwear products feature a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment free of perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), promoting a cleaner environment.

Fort Collins and Colorado epitomize the outdoor spirit. In addition to the company’s focus on designing sustainable products, the team pays homage to its hometown and state by naming products after local outdoor points of interest and landmarks, including its Foothills Flannel, Old Town Button, Horsetooth Hoodie and Poudre Trail Performance Short.

The Tellus product lineup comprises 35 meticulously designed outdoor apparel items suitable for both men and women. This collection showcases signature pieces such as full-zip fleece, quilted jackets, parkas, rain jackets, outdoor pants, duffle bags, backpacks, and women’s leggings. These products are available in a wide array of colorways, ensuring an ideal fit for every adventure.
