Columbine Health Systems is hosting ‘2024 Medicare Changes’ on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 10:00 a.m. at its management facility located at 802 W. Drake Road in Fort Collins. This free seminar serves to help those eligible for Medicare navigate the enrollment process, understand the different options and answer any questions they may have. It is open to the public and residents living in Columbine Health’s independent or assisted living facilities. Anyone who is already eligible for Medicare, caregivers and those who will soon be turning 65 are also welcomed to attend.
The seminar will be presented by Colorado Gerontological Society, a Denver nonprofit that provides education and training to help older adults and families improve their quality of life.
The seminar will include:
- The different parts of Medicare: (Part A) hospital insurance; (Part B) medical insurance—outpatient visits, lab work, preventive services; (Part C): health plans; and (Part D): prescription drug coverage
- Premiums, deductibles and co-pays
- Costs of Part B and Part D
- Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage Plan
Additionally, the goal is to share what occurs to benefits when individuals choose Medicare Advantage Plans and what they have to do to use their benefits. It is open enrollment time—even a 95-year-old who has been on a Humana Medicare Advantage plan for 30 years is eligible and has the right to switch to a traditional Medicare Plan.
Registration is not required.
