Northern Colorado’s fifth annual Korn Ferry Tour, The Ascendant Presented by Blue, brought some of the biggest names in golf to Berthoud’s TPC Colorado from July 10-16. The tournament is Colorado’s only reoccurring event affiliated with the PGA Tour and attracts avid golfers from around the world as they cheer their favorite professional golfers on to the PGA Tour. This year’s winner is Florida’s Nicholas Lindheim, who set a new tournament record with an overall score of minus-20. In addition to earning himself a place on the PGA Tour, he won two Adirondack chairs made with skis painted to look like the Colorado and Wyoming flags.
Presented by Blue Credit Union, the tournament sends one winner to the PGA Tour every year while raising money for local organizations and nonprofits. This year’s benefactors include the Berthoud Community Library District, Colorado Golf Association, First Tee Colorado Rocky Mountains, PGA Colorado Section, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, Lions Clubs International, Realities For Children, Thompson School District, UCHealth, Thompson Valley High School JROTC, United Way and House of Neighborly Service.
“PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour both value making a positive impact in the community,” said Stephanie Teubner, President and CEO of Blue Federal Credit Union, when they announced their collaboration before the tournament’s inaugural year. “Blue shares in this goal as we discover pathways to help others realize their possibilities. We see this partnership as accomplishing these aspirations and more.”
