Fort Collins’ Top Dog Announces Third Annual Competition and Fundraiser for the Local Non-Profit, the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center with the Winner to Be Featured on a Limited-Edition Odell Beer Can Label
Fort Collins’ Top Dog announces the kick-off for the 2023 Top Dog competition with efforts to raise awareness and funds for the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center. The 2023 Top Dog winner will be featured on a limited-edition Odell Brewing beer can label.
Participants from Northern Colorado may enter their dog starting on June 1st by creating a fundraising page to showcase their dog and detail why they deserve to be crowned the 2023 Top Dog. Those who enter are encouraged to engage their family, friends, and community throughout the summer to ‘vote’ for their dog with donations. Each dollar raised equals one vote for their dog. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the NoCo Wildlife Center. The fundraising part of the competition ends on August 31st. The top 15 fundraising pups and one dog selected for social media exposure will compete at Odell Brewery in Fort Collins on September 24th for the 2023 Top Dog title.
“Coloradoans love their dogs and the previous Top Dog competitions have been tremendously successful – both as a fun event and in raising awareness and much-needed funds for the local non-profit, the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center,” says the Top Dog founder, Alex Koenigsberg. “We are thrilled to be back this year and expect the competition to be even more exciting. We hope everyone with a dog will participate.”
The Fort Collins’ Top Dog events have raised over $36,000 in the previous two years. Event organizers hope to raise more money this year as the competition grows in popularity.
“This is our biggest fundraiser for our non-profit,” says Tallon Nightwalker, Co-Founder and Director of the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center. “We cannot thank the community enough for participating with their dogs. Their hard work has made a big impact on our ability to help our local wildlife. ”
Both Koenigsberg and Nightwalker say the event is about having fun – any friendly dog (regardless of age, breed, or talent) may enter. Details for the in-person event at Odell Brewing in September are being finalized but Koenigsberg promises creative games that put each dog on a level playing field to compete for the title.
