With only 13 singers, Greeley Harmonix, the local women’s a cappella group, took first place in their division and fourth place overall at the recent Sweet Adelines International Region 8 competition.
Held May 4-6 in Fort Collins, Colo., Greeley Harmonix was up against 10 choruses from a seven-state region that includes Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado, and ranging in size from 95 singers to 12 singers.
“I’m excited and proud of Harmonix,” says Music Director Julie Palagi. “We’ve been in contention for several years and our dedication finally paid off.”
Surround Sound Quartet, also from Greeley Harmonix, was in seventh place out of 24 quartets competing.
Greeley Harmonix is open for auditions. Email director@greeleyharmonix.org or go to www.greeleyharmonix.org for more information.
