Through a celebration of classic and contemporary Western films, the Go West Film Festival explores social and environmental issues currently impacting the West. In their 8th season, festival organizers selected 12 classic and current Western films to showcase. Films from Charlie Chaplin’s 1925 silent movie favorite, “The Gold Rush,” to Clint Eastwood in “Cry Macho” (2021) screened Monday through Saturday. After each film, audience members stayed for stimulating discussions. For the first time, the festival invited filmmakers to present their films in person. Producer Felicitas Funke introduced her 2019 film, “Cowboys,” and directors Gaston Davis and Ross Denyer led Q&A sessions on their films “Cowboys Without Borders” (2020) and “Tell No Tales” (2019).
