Kick-Off Labor Day Weekend with a Concert at the Rialto Theater Featuring Jarabe Mexicano
Kick-off Labor Day weekend with a concert featuring Jarabe Mexicano! They will take the historic Rialto Theater stage in downtown Loveland, Colorado on Friday, September 2, at 7:30 pm.
Jarabe Mexicano captures the nostalgic spirit of their border roots with their charismatic brand of “Bordeño-Soul,” which honors the musical tastes and cultural influences of its members. Jarabe, which translates to “concoction,” highlights the eclectic mix of genres they perform ranging from Mexican Folk, Rock & Roll, and Norteño/Tex-Mex to Latin Rock, Trío Romántico, and popular Cumbia.
Their traditional Mariachi string instruments and Norteño-inspired drums complement dramatic vocals in English, Spanish, and Spanglish, and shows how this multi-generational ensemble embraces change without forgetting the past.
As educators, cultural ambassadors and advocates for the arts, Jarabe Mexicano is “thought-provoking, heartfelt, and engaging,” the Vilar Performing Arts Center raves. Their concert, entitled “Fiesta En Familia,” aims to create a deeper and more inclusive sense of family and community, with a special commitment to underserved groups. Jarabe has also shared the stage with guitarist and composer Louie Pérez of Los Lobos and has opened for internationally renowned acts like Gaby Moreno and La Santa Cecilia.
Jarabe Mexicano will take the stage on Friday, September 2, at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rialtotheatercenter.org or by calling the box office at 970.962.2120.
