Family Resource Fair

For 3 weeks in January, Homeward Alliance’s Family Services program welcomed over 100 families to their newly opened Children and Teen Clothing Closet, a collaboration with the Family Housing Network that offers free children’s clothes to the families they serve. Staff and volunteers hosted personal shopping appointments to help families select clothing, hygiene, diapers and food items, and connect them with other community resources. Since the Closet is typically only open to local service providers who shop on behalf of their clients, staff also made sure the families have at least one service provider to help them access the Closet in the future. Thanks to community donations and volunteer hours, this Children and Teen Clothing Closet served 363 children through 119 visits by 21 service providers.
