A pandemic didn’t stop Faith Church volunteers from continuing their annual Rake Day tradition. Twenty-seven residents signed up for crews to rake leaves. When a crew finished early, they went door-to-door and began raking leaves for anyone who would let them. With social distancing intact, 180 Faith volunteers spread out over Fort Collins to rake leaves for dozens of residents who were either physically or financially prevented from cleaning up their yards. Some did curbside service leaf pick-up for residents as they drove through neighborhoods. The reward for the volunteers? Grateful residents who called them “my superheroes” and free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches back at the church.
