Treat Addiction, Save Lives: Overdose Awareness Film Series 2020

North America continues to experience the highest drug-related mortality rate in the world, accounting for 1-in-4 drug-related deaths globally.

•Roughly 21 to 29 percent of patients prescribed opioids for chronic pain misuse them.
•Between 8 and 12 percent develop an opioid use disorder.
•An estimated 4 to 6 percent who misuse prescription opioids transition to heroin.
•About 80 percent of people who use heroin first misused prescription opioids.

Education is key.

August 31st is Overdose Awareness Day.  A broad group of health partners in Northern Colorado have collaborated to bring a FREE film series in Larimer and Weld counties. “Treat Addiction, Save Lives: Overdose Awareness Film Series 2020.”  2 out of 5 showings have already taken place, and to sold out audiences.
