Everyone Gets the Blues!

Fort Collins Blues Society Hosts Blues on the Square Event

On Sunday, September 22, Fort Collins got a taste of what the blues are all about. The Fort Collins Blues Society (FOCOBS) hosted a free party for approximately 250 folks on Old Town Square, with continuous music from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Local blues artists performed for an enthusiastic crowd who danced, sang along, and otherwise enjoyed the perfect autumn weather.

Those donating their time and talents included the Dave Dardine Project, Blues Behind Bars, Grace Kuch Band, Robert Wilson Blues Band, Blues Dogs, Deborah Stafford and the State of Affairs, Paul Dennis, and Johnny Johnston. Musical styles ranged from west coast jam to sounds straight from the delta, to swinging old-school style and folk blues. Membership also increased, bringing in over 60 new and renewing members. FOCOBS would like to especially thank Shaped Music for their sound services, as well as all the wonderful volunteers who made this event possible.
