AKUA and Gelli Monotype Printmaking Workshop

Hunting for a unique hobby? How about monotype printmaking? On February 9th, starting at 10 a.m., the Museum of Art (M.O.A) in Fort Collins is putting on a workshop focused on working with Gelli Plates and Akua inks ( a soy based ink ) at the Carnegie Center for Creativity.

You have the exciting opportunity to learn from Professor Melanie Yazzie. She is the Head of Printmaking at the University of Colorado in Boulder and is nationally and internationally recognized for her artwork. Her exhibition, Mind Mapping is displayed at the M.O.A until March 17th.

This fun workshop is an introduction to a new and unique method for making prints. The focus will be on making simple stencils and abstract work that will allow you time to discover how you can use this method to make your own prints without a printing press in your own home!
