THE HUMAN BEAN NORTHERN COLORADO HELPS BRING GRACE AND DIGNITY TO UNDERSERVED FAMILIES
April 11 @ 8:00 am - April 17 @ 5:00 pm
The Human Bean Northern Colorado continues to put community first by turning a coffee run into an act of kindness. From April 11 through April 17, The Human Bean Northern Colorado is hosting a donation drive at all locations to benefit the Grace Upon Grace Project, whose mission is to provide underserved families and infants essentials to live and grow with dignity and grace, while addressing the roots of social inequities. Each customer who brings a donation will receive a free 20-ounce drink coupon. (One coupon per customer.)
Accepted items for the drive are limited to diapers (especially needed are sizes 3-6), baby wipes and period products only. Since the Grace Upon Grace Project started in February of 2020, they have distributed an estimated 40,000 diapers, 70,000 wipes and 10,000 period products to families in need.
Essentials like diapers can become a financial burden for many families. In fact, one in three families report struggling to provide clean diapers for their child/children. Most children use between eight to 10 diapers a day which can cost upwards of $100 per month per child.
Not having access to proper period products can pose struggles for many women. One in four individuals grappled to purchase period products within the past year due to lack of income. One in five individuals with a low income report missing work, school, or similar events due to lack of access to period supplies. Lack of access to period supplies is linked to using substitute products, like toilet paper or socks and stretching product usage which can lead to health complications.
