Larimer Humane Society celebrated the 30th Annual Fire Hydrant 5K and Paws on the Promenade Expo, presented by Poudre Pet and Feed Supply, in a virtual format this year.
Over 360 registrants, as well as sponsors, donors, vendors, and volunteers, joined together as part of the fully-virtual experience. This included a 5K walk/run via the Strava mobile app, allowing competitors to participate at the time and place of their choosing. A pre-recorded podcast, virtual expo, and online contests incorporated traditional components of the event, while keeping supporters safe. The event culminated with a live telecast emceed by iHeart Radio’s Sadie Young, on May 30. Nearly $60,000 has been raised through this year’s event to help homeless animals.
