Hearts & Horses Launches Colorado Gives Day and Shares Thanks

Hearts & Horses, a nonprofit dedicated to equine therapy, is launching a Colorado Gives Day campaign on Dec. 8 to ask Colorado residents to support its life-changing programs and initiatives by making an online donation at www.coloradogives.org/HeartsandHorses.

The Northern Colorado nonprofit is hoping to raise $107,000 to support the physical, cognitive, emotional and social well-being of people with special needs through equine-assisted activities and therapies. Recently, Hearts & Horses hosted their first-ever virtual version of the Lucky Hearts Gala where they raised $315,000 (gross). More than 1,000 people tuned in to the virtual gala on Saturday, Oct. 10 from Colorado, Florida, Texas, Hawaii and around the country to enjoy a special musical performance by country music legends, Rascal Flatts, in addition to a live and silent auction, inspirational stories and entertainment from emcee Shawn Patrick of iHeart Media’s Big 97.9.
According to Jan Pollema, executive director for Hearts & Horses, the Lucky Hearts Gala and Colorado Gives Day are two of the most important fundraising events of the year.

“We’re honored by the overwhelming support we receive from our community, sponsors, donors and volunteers,” says Pollema. “We know our work makes a positive impact on our riders and our community. That’s why we’re dedicated to raising the necessary funds through Colorado Gives Day, as well as our Lucky Hearts Gala, to continue providing the highest level of care to our riders and our herd. We need your help.”
