Publisher’s Letter: Summer Fun and Food Trucks

By: Lisa

How do you know it’s finally summer in NOCO? Like leaves on trees and plants and flowers in your garden, food trucks are popping up everywhere – the parks, the breweries, maybe even on a nearby street corner. They dot our landscape with their colorful, eclectic and often vintage designs, offering an amazing array of creative cuisines. Thinking of going into the business, or just curious about what goes on inside? Turn to page 12, for a behind-the-scenes look at food trucks.

The Foundry in Loveland is debuting a summer series of concerts, outdoor movies, farmers markets and fitness events. CSU’s Lagoon Concert Series lineup is out, featuring a wide range of music including country, indie rock and rockabilly-swing. The free, Wednesday-night concerts start June 19. The Bohemian Nights Thursday-night concert series in Old Town Square kicks off May 30 with a great lineup of new, emerging and established artists. Stay on top of all the music at https://nocostyle.com/events.

Looking for non-profit events to support? Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud is holding its signature fundraiser June 12. “Meals on 4th” is a casually elegant dinner under the lights on 4th Street in downtown Loveland. For dog lovers, Harley’s Dream is holding a weekend of festivities June 14-16 in Berthoud to raise awareness about puppy mills.

It’s time to cast your votes for the Best Of NOCO. It’s faster and easier than ever to cast your vote online and share your favorites on social media at www.bit.ly/nocobestof. We had more than 7,500 unique voters last year, and we hope to double that this year.

And while you’re out and about in NOCO this summer, snap some selfies and share them on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/nocostylemagazine. We’ll hold photo contests throughout the summer with prizes including concert tickets, food and fun.
