Pathways Shows Appreciation on Caregivers Pampering Day

Caregivers are providing assistance to nearly 50 million adults and Pathways recognizes the compassion as well as the challenges that come with offering that assistance. They have dedicated April 27th as a day to honor those who spend their days and nights caring for a loved one. Pathways is hosting their Annual Caregivers Pampering Day which is open to the entire community, caregivers are invited to a free day of enjoyment, relaxation and pampering.

“Caring for an ill loved one is one of the most difficult jobs in the world and oftentimes goes unnoticed,” said Tammy Brannen-Smith, Director of Pathways for Grief and Loss. With the help of volunteers and sponsors, caregivers will be given the opportunity to indulge in free services, including aromatherapy, massages, creative healing, mindful stress reduction, yoga, tea tasting hosted by Happy Lucky’s Teahouse, therapy dog companionship and much more.

Caregivers Pampering Day is a collaboration among Alzheimer’s Association, Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado, Larimer County Office on Aging, Mountain View Presbyterian Church, Pathways and Volunteers of America. This special day is also made possible with financial support from Banner Health, Seniors Helping Seniors, Good Sam, UCHealth and the Aspen Club, Home Instead, MacKenzie Place, Windsong, Chris and Evan Hyatt, Mountain View and Senior Life Solutions.
